Lucy Electric Manufacturing Technologies Supports the Elderly Affected by COVID-19
Staff in Lucy Electric Manufacturing Technologies, also known as LEMT, reached out to their local community in September. After hearing that a local home for the elderly was struggling due to the pandemic and lack of funding, staff wanted to help.
LEMT provided funds to ensure that the residents have enough food. The Jalaram Seva Trust looks after the elderly who don’t have family and who would otherwise be destitute. Prior to Covid, the Trust had a good number of donors, but the number has since decreased which left the charity with minimal funds.
The on-site canteen in the home was able to provide some excellent meals for the residents and they were very grateful for LEMT’s contribution towards the ingredients and for remembering them at their time of need.
LEMT has decided to take up more projects like these, as Covid has negatively impacted so many charitable institutions who rely on the goodwill and generosity of others to operate.
