George Kingston-Rayes – Electrical Engineering Apprentice
George joined Lucy Electric EMS in 2015 as an Electrical Engineering Apprentice. His role includes learning new skills, progressing through his education and training to become a full time employee.
George joined Lucy Electric EMS because he was interested in working in the engineering field and working for a company tha -t could support his ongoing development. In a typical day, George will be involved in problem solving and specialised electrical work for multiple applications.
The work George gets involved in is varied each day, and no two jobs are the same, this variety, along with the autonomy to solve issues and develop his skills is what he loves the most about his role. He’s enjoyed working for a number of departments to learn more about engineering and the organisation, whilst also enjoying the opportunity to take part in testing in some of our overseas operations.
Before joining Lucy George had just finished his GCSEs, with minor experience in the working world from work experience and a summer job. Lucy has given him the opportunity to improve his skills whilst gaining valuable experience.
When he’s not at work, George likes to go cycling, keeping fit at the gym and tinkering to learn how things work, or fix them.
In the future, George would like to learn more about electrical testing procedures with high current and high voltage.
