Lucy Group’s Board of Directors provides strategic direction and governance to the Group and the operating businesses to deliver the Group’s strategic objectives.
Richard Dick - Executive Chairman
Richard was appointed as Executive Chairman in 1990, having been appointed as a Director in February 1981.He is also Chairman of W.L. Shareholding Company Ltd. Richard is a past president of and plays an active role in BEAMA. He is also a past president of Orgalim, the body that represents Europe’s technology industries at EU level. As High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, he started the High Sheriff Young Engineer Awards in 2009, which is now an annual event. Richard’s active charity interests are in young people, education and homelessness in the Oxford area. He has a degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Gary Ashton – Group Finance Director
Gary joined the company as Group Finance Director in April 1997 and also oversees the Group Information Systems function.He is an experienced finance leader, having previously held senior positions in several large multinational companies in the electrical engineering sector. Gary has played a significant role in the transformation and growth of the company and brings strong stewardship and an appetite for innovation, collaboration and simplification. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA.
Madeline Laxton - Executive Director and Company Secretary
Madeline was appointed as Company Secretary in January 2006 and as a Director in September 2014.She oversees a number of Group functions including HR, Marketing & Communications and Legal. She also has active charity interests in Oxfordshire. Prior to joining the Group, Madeline spent 15 years in senior legal leadership roles at several large international engineering and construction companies. She has degrees from the University of Leeds and King’s College, University of London.
Jonathan Finch-Dick - Executive Director
Jonathan was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in June 2013, subsequently becoming an Executive Director upon joining Lucy Group on a full-time basis in May 2017.His current focus is on overseeing the Lucy Real Estate and the Lucy Controls businesses. Prior to joining the Group, he spent 12 years at CBRE, the international commercial real estate services and investment firm, culminating in the role of Senior Director. Jonathan has a degree in Geography from the University of Oxford.
Pippa Latham - Non-Executive Director
Pippa was appointed to the Board in June 2013 and is Chair of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.After a career in merchant banking, she spent 25 years at family AIM listed business James Latham plc, before running her own corporate governance & company secretarial consultancy. Pippa is a Non-Executive Director at Albion Enterprise VCT plc and is Head of Corporate Development & Sponsorship at Garsington Opera. She has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University, an MBA from INSEAD and is FCMA and ACIS qualified.
Richard Dobbs – Non-Executive Director
Richard was appointed to the Board in July 2020. He had a 30-year career at global management consultancy McKinsey – working in the UK, India and South Korea – most recently holding the positions of Senior Partner and Director of the McKinsey Centre for Government. Richard is also a Non-Executive Director at the UK Statistics Authority. He has a degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Stanford.
Michael Dick – Non-Executive Director
Michael was appointed to the Board in May 2024. He had a 30-year career in marketing, working on numerous blue-chip brands, including more than a decade working for Coca-Cola in senior management positions, both domestically in the UK and internationally. He is a former fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Durham.

John Fox - Managing Director, Lucy Zodion
John joined Lucy Zodion in 2004 as Managing Director and drives the company’s growth and innovation, particularly within the field of smart street lighting control.Prior to joining Lucy Zodion, he was European Technical Manager at Thomas & Betts (now ABB Installation Products), a designer and manufacturer of electrical connectors and components. He is an ambassador for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), actively promoting and advising on these disciplines within education and career development. John has a degree in Electrical Sciences from Cambridge University and possesses extensive knowledge in lighting standards.
John Griffiths - CEO, Lucy Electric
John joined Lucy Electric in May 2014 as CEO and is responsible for developing the company’s global production and commercial footprint.Most of his career has been spent in the electrical engineering industry, working on electrical distribution systems and industrial & building automation solutions. Prior to joining Lucy Electric, John held senior leadership roles with Oriental Copper in Thailand, Schneider Electric in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and Moeller Electric in the UK and Singapore. He studied electrical engineering in South Africa and General Management & Marketing in London.
Ian Ashcroft - CEO, Lucy Real Estate
Ian joined the company in March 2002 as Property Manager and was appointed Director of Lucy Developments in 2010.He is responsible for the Group’s real estate investment portfolio, which encompasses property development and rental in Oxfordshire. He is a Director of Lucy Developments Ltd, which specialises in the building of high-quality housing for sale in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Ian also advises on Group real estate matters. He is a Chartered Surveyor and holds a diploma in surveying from the College of Estate Management at the University of Reading.
Loránd Mózes - CEO, Flashnet
Loránd is CEO and board member of Flashnet, the company he founded in 2005.Since founding Flashnet, he has grown the business from a single person to 50+ employees and a multi-million USD revenue. He has 25 years’ work experience in management positions at technology companies in Romania and Hungary. With a strong technical background in information technology, electronic product design and software development, Loránd has a deep understanding of communication technologies and has done pioneering work on LPWA networking solutions and cutting-edge technology IoT products for the smart energy market.
Harsha Raghavan- General Manager, Lawson Fuses
Harsha joined Lawson Fuses in October 2022 and is responsible for leading business operations globally, including overseeing factories in the UK and India.Prior to joining Lawson Fuses, he spent two decades in the manufacturing and services sector specialising in cutting-edge engineering for transportation, energy and industrial markets. His previous role was Chief Commercial Officer for a manufacturer of power conversion technologies. Harsha has an MBA from Warwick Business School, a postgraduate diploma in Telecommunications Management from Sri Balaji Society, India, and a degree in Engineering from Annamalai University, India.
