Hairy November Raises £4000 for Men’s Health Charity
In November 2018, many men in the Lucy Electric Thame office grew moustaches for Movember. The Movember foundation is a leading charity changing the face of men’s health and it addresses some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Movember, which is now an annual event, has created a movement of over 5 million supporters across the world, funding more than 1,200 innovative men’s health projects across more than 20 countries.
Office workers, factory staff and the leadership team all grew facial hair and donated money. Over the month, not only did many men grow some very impressive moustaches (some really not enjoying having facial hair at all), but over £4K was raised for the charity. A celebration was held at the end of the month with a pizza lunch for everyone.
This event has been one of the most successful so far and it was fantastic that so many people got involved. Needless to say, there were a lot of relieved and clean shaven faces when the month ended.
